TIB Announces Election of New Directors

DALLAS, TX…TIB The Independent BankersBank, N.A., announced the election of Gary L. Owens and John J. D’Angelo to the Board of Directors of Independent Bankers Financial Corporation (IBFC).

Gary L. Owens is the President of Wallis Bank and its holding company, Wallis Bancshares, Inc., in Houston. He also serves on the board of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and is involved with several community organizations in the Houston Area. He has spent the last 27 years of his career in community banking. Gary is a graduate of McNeese State University, where he earned a Finance and Economics degree, as well as an Accounting degree.

John J. D’Angelo has served as the President and CEO of Investar Bank since he chartered and founded the Bank in 2006. Prior to launching Investar Bank, Mr. D’Angelo had 30 years of financial experience, both in banking and accounting. He is actively involved in the Baton Rouge community, serving on the boards of St. Joseph’s Academy, the Louisiana Commerce and Trade Association and the Louisiana National Guard Foundation. Mr. D’Angelo earned his BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University and is a certified public accountant.

Mr. Owens and Mr. D’Angelo replace two directors whose terms have expired, George Fisk, formerly Vice Chairman of LegacyTexas Financial Group in Plano, Texas and Jim O’Jibway, President and CEO of Austin County State Bank in Bellville, Texas.
